From the Learning Rooms

I am thinking...
about the  talks I heard over the weekend at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Homeschool Conference. One was about how the Book of Tobit is really an overview of all of salvation history.  Another was about the existence of hell (which has been a big topic on this blog before!)  I also got a chance to meet author Regina Doman and even bought an autographed book!

I am thankful for...
Church's teaching on purgatory, redemption and mercy.

Izzy Art

Izzy's art teacher told me sternly this week that Izzy really needs to go into art for her career.

I'm not sure what to do with that, but I am going to keep developing her talents so that she will have that option. In the meantime, she has been commissioned to make a flute bracelet and tonight she started Wilton Cake decorating classes.

She has to take a cooled cake and butter cream icing to class next week and also something to fill her cake with.  Her siblings are very excited about this.  In the meantime she has to practice making little stars with her tips and bags.

Her teacher is an interesting person.  She goes to college but she also owns her own bakery and she has worked in bakeries and cake shops for over ten years.  Right now she specializes in "adult" cakes.  As long as she has Izzy sticking with flowers and sea shell designs, we should be fine.
